SARA (Swiss Addiction Research Award) 2013

The winners of the SARA 2013 are:
 

Charles Bonsack, University of Lausanne, CHUV, Lausanne and
Matthias Vonmoos, Division of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacopsychology, University Hospital of Psychiatry in Zurich.

Charles Bonsack was awarded for a research article he had published in 2011 in the Journal “Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics” entitled as « Motivational Intervention to Reduce Cannabis Use in Young People with Psychosis: A Randomized Controlled Trial »
 

Vonmoos.jpg

Matthias Vonmoos received the prize for his research on “Cognitive dysfunctions in recreational and dependent cocaine users: The role of ADHS, craving, and early age of onset” published in the British Journal of Psychiatry 2013.

 

With SARA 2013 the Swiss Society of Addiction Medicine (SSAM) honoured two outstanding achievements in addiction research. The award consisted of a cash-prize of 5.000 CHF. It was handed over on the occasion of the Swiss Addiction Research Day (SARD) in Montreux on September 13, 2013. In a small ceremony Prof. Wiesbeck, president of the SARA curatorium, honoured the winners. The prize was handed out by the president of the SSAM, Dr. Hämmig.
